The theme of this Workshop being repair, we pushed the wear of the parts to the extreme, to the point of completely disfiguring them. The idea was to exaggerate the effect of time and work on clothing.

The top is made of overalls on which we applied bleach until the initial color was almost completely lost. File work was done on the sleeves, simulating the age and wear of the garment. A few pleats were sewn to raise the jacket at the waist and provide asymmetry on the front and back. We then cut two checkerboards from denim, which we sewed to the jacket. Finally, each intersection of tiles is embroidered with a delicate golden bead, contrasting with the tears and the raw appearance of the garment.

The pantsuit is made up of several pants and torn skirts. We kept the legs of a light-colored pair of jeans in order to sew them inside the pile of fabric. A superposition is then created between the legs and the skirt, allowing a chiaroscuro contrast reminiscent of the checkerboard pattern of the jacket. Some parts of the skirt have also been worked with pleats, adding volume and lightness to the piece.

Finally, discreet golden threads have come to enhance this patchwork work, adding shine to the matte fabrics.
